Hello
My name is Juan Rangel and this is my lovely wife, Ruth Rangel. We are the directors of "Jesus is my Pastor" rehabilitation center in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico. We give all the glory to God for his goodness and generosity toward us, our family, and the wholeness of a ministry he has put as a desire in our hearts.
Our Story
When we arrived in the city of Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico, we had been married only 15 days. Even before our wedding, my wife and I had prayed and talked about starting a ministry in my hometown. We had a clear vision of what God had placed in our hearts. With nothing more than our suitcases, we began meeting and arranging bible studies with our neighbors in my parents' home. After a short period of time, we began renting a small space and began sharing the Gospel in our community. Little by little, people came to know Christ and the ministry began to grow. As we expanded, we faced challenges- oppositions from local witch doctors, oppression from other bigger religious churches, difficulties with the government, and even death threats. Yet through it all God protected us. By his grace, we preserved. Today, the city is filled with Christian churches born from our little ministry. We have been pastors for 39 years since then and pray we continue to see the ministry God has put in our hearts flourish and expand.
Why We Need Healing Bridges
Five years ago, we began working with men struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction. In the last 2 years, the number of young women that have experienced unimaginable trauma and fallen into addiction because of domestic violence and human trafficking has risen in Mexico by 84%. Unfortunately, many of our recoveries, both men and women, have little to no form of family support. We have witnessed lives transformed by Gods power. This is why we began "Jesus is My Pastor" rehabilitation center, to aid and support the youth of Guanajuato, Mexico and provide them with what the world has failed them in. Now, we are building a larger, dedicated facility to serve them. It is a place where they can receive the treatment, care, and the physical and spiritual support they need.
We have been working on this project for nearly two years, trusting God to provide. Our wish is to help as many people as possible, find freedom and a new life of recovery through Christ. We aim to help our recoveries in their new life by connecting them with job opportunities and information about furthering their education after recovery. The recovery period we offer is 8 months that is cost free to everyone! Many of the people we have helped in the past, have come back to volunteer their time in gratitude of the support and healing they received. Any form of support—whether through prayer, resources, or financial contributions is a blessing, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity! We would also like to say a special thank you to Zoe and Yuridia! These are two are remarkable young ladies who have been incredibly generous in donating their time and appreciated effort to this project and us.
